Hemorrhoid Relief: Get the Facts and Treatment Advice

Millions of people worldwide suffer or will eventually suffer from hemorrhoids. This condition is similar to the varicose veins that occur in the legs. Hemorrhoids occur when the veins of the anus are stretched and ultimately tear from too much pressure. This is why they are so common in pregnant women.

Hemorrhoids generally affects both men and women that are over the age of 30 and are extremely common in people between the ages of 45 and 65.

In the United State alone, there are over 500,000 hemorrhoid suffers and of that population approximately 10 to 20 percent require surgical treatment for hemorrhoid relief.

There are 2 very distinct types of hemorrhoids, internal and external.

Internal hemorrhoids are located in the higher, internal, portion of the anus and are in most cases not painful. There will be some bleeding which will appear bright red in your stool because of the arterial blood. Sometimes internal hemorrhoids will protrude from the anus and these are called prolapsed. Proper hemorrhoid relief for prolapsed hemorrhoids is having them gently pushed back inside.

When most people discuss hemorrhoids, they are speaking about external hemorrhoids.

These hemorrhoids are very itchy, painful and cause general discomfort. With external hemorrhoids, you will also see bright red blood on your toilet paper or in the toilet bowl after a bowel movement. Even though it may be extremely embarrassing, you should always consult your physician about any discomfort, blood or pain you are experiencing during bowel movements. Blood in the stool could be a sign of a much more serious condition.

Many of the hemorrhoid relief options on the market are geared toward external hemorrhoids.

After you have been properly diagnosed with hemorrhoids, you should know that there are several natural hemorrhoid relief options available to you. You do not have to be a slave to creams and pills for the rest of your life.

Here is a list of a few natural hemorrhoid relief options:
1. Sitz bath
2. Instead of using rough toilet paper, use pads soaked with witch hazel.
3. Try not to have prolonged periods of sitting or standing. Move around.
4. Healthy diet. Many people are simply not eating enough fiber and have constant constipation. The excessive straining during bowel movements is a known cause of hemorrhoids.

Hemroid Treatment: More Fiber and Water

Here is a very sad statistic.

Over 150 million people in the United States will experience some kind of hemroid by the time they reach 50 years of age. Most of these people will do absolutely nothing about it.

On average, only approximately half a million (500,000) will actually seek medical attention for their hemroids. If left untreated, hemroids can lead to serious damage and ultimately surgery.

The very sad part of this story is that in most cases, hemroids are preventable and easy to treat.

I would like to share with your some very simply hemroid treatment options that you can do starting tonight and experience immediate relief.

By making simple changes to your diet and lifestyle, you can save yourself a lot of embarrassment, discomfort and pain. It is recommended that everybody eat more fiber daily. This can help prevent constipation which puts unnecessary strain on your anus. The unnecessary strain of constipation often leads to hemroids.

The best way to add more fiber is to eat more fruits and vegetables daily which is something you should already be doing. More fruits and veggies can not only provide your body with all the vitamins and minerals you need for healthy living, but also put more fiber into your system for easier bowel movements.

Fiber helps loosen your stool and make it much easier to come out. You never want to strain during bowel movements. If you are straining, you need to add more fiber into your diet immediately.

There are also fiber mixes (Metamucil) that can be added to water but, in my opinion, most of them taste nasty. If you are able to find one that you drink, then by all means, take that as well.

Most people’s diets are drastically lacking in fiber and the likelihood of you over eating fiber is minimal. Fiber makes you feel full faster; therefore, the likelihood of you over eating fiber is not likely.

Since the average adult is carrying a range of anywhere from 6 to 40 pounds of excess waste (crap) in their intestines, it will be quite difficult to over do it on fiber. We are literally full of sh…..

Another simple hemroid treatment is water. Drinking more water can also assist with bowel movements. It will loosen the stool and make it much easier to pass. You should drink at least 8 cups of water per day for healthy living.

There are a variety of herbs that can be used for treating hemorrhoids. Oftentimes, these herbs work much better than prescription or over-the-counter medications. Some of the herbs are used as topical ointments like Preparation H while others are inserted into the anus to help clean the area and reduce various hemorrhoid symptoms.

Prevention can go a very a long way when it comes to treating hemorrhoids. If you would like to prevent hemorrhoids, take 1 to 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil everyday, drink 8 glasses of water and eat foods high in fiber like beets, Brazil nuts, psyllium seed, green beans, carrots, apples, and broccoli.

Here is a list of herbs you can use for naturally treating hemorrhoids.

  • Fresh pulp aloe vera gel applied to anus takes away pain much like aspirin.

Types of Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids can sneak up on you with very little warning. This is mainly because hemorrhoid tissue already exists in the anus and is very easily irritated. Some hemorrhoid sufferers do not experience any pain or discomfort. If you ever experience any bleeding during your bowel movements, you should immediately seek medical attention as it could be a sign of a MUCH more serious condition.

There are several types of hemorrhoids and they are classified by “grades.”

  • First Degree Hemorrhoids – Bleeding hemorrhoids.
  • Second Degree Hemorrhoids – Hemorrhoids that may or may not bleed and protrude from the anal canal but draw back in of their own.
  • Third Degree Hemorrhoids – Hemorrhoids that protrude from the anal canal and must be pushed in manually.
  • Fourth Degree Hemorrhoids – Hemorrhoids that protrude from the anal canal, do not retract of their own accord, and cannot be pushed in manually.

These may contain blood clots or pull lining of the rectum through the anus.

If you think you have hemorrhoids, discuss treatment options with your doctor.
